He spoke during the BreakFast meeting organised by the Nigerian Shippers Council (NSC) at Eko Hotel, Lagos, on the Financing of Transport Infrastructure.
It would be recalled that the House of Representatives had earlier passed the NTC Bill which provides that the NSC should transmute into the Commission.
Since then, industry stakeholders have been waiting for the Senate to concur on the Bill as passed by the House.
Sani commended the NSC for its contribution in developing the maritime industry.
The Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Ports, Harbours and Waterways, Dr. Patrick Asadu was also full of commendation for its good performance in the maritime industry.
Asadu said it was in recognition of this performance that made the House to pass the NTC bill with the Council transforming into it.
Under the Bill, NTC will be the independent multimodal transport sector regulator.
